Match Report-
Police Gymkhana after being put to bat first at Shivaji Park mustered a total of 245/10 in 20 overs. With 3 down for 27 runs, they required someone at the middle order to resurrect the innings back and luckily for them it was Atif Khan and Khush Jain stitching a 74 run stand for the 5th wicket. Atif coming at no.5 scored 68 off 73 balls while Khush Jain scored an equally solid 51 off 60 deliveries to push their team towards a competitive total.
SPG’s spinner Omkar Karandikar bagged his 2nd fifer of the tournament coming up with bowling figures of 6/90 in 23.5 overs coupled with 5 maidens.
Chasing 246, Shivaji Park Gymkhana were all out for 229 runs despite the good fight given by their no.3 batsman Varun Ragji (95 off 136) and no.5 batsman Pratik Konkar who scored 55 off 207 balls. Left arm spinner Zenith Sachdev who just bagged a fifer in his previous match too in the same tournament continues to bamboozle batsman as he came up with match winning bowling figures of 5/69 in 38 overs including 12 maidens. Akash Dube with 3/71 also proved to be quite effective as Police Gymkhana won the semi finals by 16 runs in what turned out to be an exciting neck to neck encounter.
