Kamran Ahmed’s 81 helps Osian Cricket Club clinch the GDCL Final against CCI
The final match of GDCL was played between Osian Cricket Club and Cricket Club of India on Sunday at the latter’s home in Mumbai. Winning the toss and electing to bat first, the home team put up a dismal show as they could only score 134-9 in 20 overs. Opening batsman Tejas Patani top scored with 33 (26), and was complimented well by Rohan Punjani (23) and Rupen Jhaveri (26). However, Osian’s bowlers got the better of CCI and the side was reduced to a below par score. Aditya Singh was the pick of the bowlers for Osian as he scalped 2-19 in his four overs.
In reply, Osian Cricket Club achieved the target with ease as they chased down the target in 17.4 overs winning the final by seven wickets. Despite losing his opening partner Vishal Shah for a duck, Kamran Ahmed steadied the ship and batted throughout for his scintillating knock of 81 (58). Kamran smashed 10 boundaries and two sixes in his match winning knock. Ankit Chopra (29) and Nirav Bheda (14 not out) proved to be Kamran’s able aegis as they saw their team home. For CCI, Tejs Patani, Shaleen Toshnival, and Hrishi Desai struck with ne wicket each.
The Man of the Match for the GDCL Final was presented to Osian Cricket Club’s Kamran Ahmed for his unbeaten knock of 81.
