Jayesh Pokhare, Gandhar Bhatawadekar, & Varun Joijode Guide Shivaji Park Gymkhana to a win in Police Invitation Shield Cricket Tournament

In a nail-biting thriller, Shivaji Park Gymkhana defeated Islam Gymkhana by just three runs in match number 18 (Group A) of the Police Invitation Shield Cricket Tournament. 

Riding on twin centuries from Jayesh Pokare (141) and Gandhar Bhatawadekar (109), Shivaji Park Gymkhana posted a mammoth score of 365 in 65 overs. Manal Kawle also chipped in with 48 to help his team pile up a daunting total. On the other hand, for Islam Gymkhana, Salil Agharkar wreaked havoc with the ball. He picked up 80/6.

In reply, Islam Gymkhana fought hard as they scored 362 in 69.4 overs. The team fell shy of three runs as they were bundled out just before the finishing line. Swapnil Salvi blasted a humongous 183 to lead the run chase from the front. Salvi was well-supported by Rahul Kesari, who contributed 63. On the other hand, for Shivaji Park Gymkhana, Varun Joijode starred with the ball, as he claimed 101/7.
