Jay Jain continues his fine form with a smoldering 65 ball 100*to steer Singhania to a win in the Singhania U-14 Tournament
Jay is just 14 years old but the way he is playing cricket gives a big statement about the level of composure & maturity he is developing day by day. It was the 3rd match for Singhania vs VPM (Vidya Prasarak Mandal) at Raymond cricket ground in Mumbai.
Winning the toss, VPM elected to bat first with aim of making a big target and putting singhania boys under pressure. However, VPM were all-out for mere 130/10 in 30 overs. The bowlers really did a commendable job & bowled well in the right areas troubling most of the batsman. Right-arm off spinner Anuj Iyer was the pick of the bowlers taking 3/12 in his 4overs followed by Jay Dhatrak taking 2/20 with his spin bowling. The rest of the bowlers also did a fine job of containing the batsman but it was Anuj & Jay who looked promising enough to trouble the opposition.
Chasing 131, it was a mere formality for the strong batting line-up of Singhania School. The in-form Jay Jain scored a blistering 100* at the top of the order coming off just 65 balls. Left-handed Jay smashed 19fours & showed his mettle at the crease dealing maximum runs in boundaries. 11yr old Vishnu who opened the innings with Jay also looked promising for his knock of 20.
Singhania School chased down the score in just 22 overs & won the match comfortably by a big margin of 9wkts. Opener Jay Jain was declared ‘man of the match’ for his stunning hundred while bowling of Anuj & jay Dhatrak was also appreciation worthy. Cricketgraph congratulates the whole team while again wishes Jay Jain for his wonderful century. With scores of 43, 72 & 100* so far, jay certainly seems to be a dangerous prospect for the future opponents.
