Islam Gymkhana defeat MCA Colts by 2 runs In Talyarkhan

Mumbai: Islam Gymkhana showed tremendous resilience and solid fighting spirit and clinched a fighting two-run win against MCA Colts in a first round match of the Bombay Gymkhana Ltd. organized Nirlon-R.F.S.-Talyarkhan Memorial Invitation Cricket Tournament 2022-2023 and played at the Bombay Gymkhana ground, Friday night.

MCA Colts all-rounder Shivam Dubey’s impressive performances, claiming 5 wickets for just 6 runs, which included a hat-trick and a composed batting display of 20-ball 30 runs went in vain as his team fell short by a mere 2 runs to secure the win.

Sent in to bat, Islam Gymkhana amassed a substantial total of 142 all out in 18.4 overs. Middle-order bat Raunaq Sharma top-scored with 44 (36-balls, 3x4s,2x6s), while Sagar Jadhav contributed a 14-ball 28 runs to prop the innings. Besides Dubey’s deadly bowling, his teammate Dhanit Raut picked 3 for 34.

In reply, MCA Colts batters lacked the confidence and were unable to make useful contributions. Only Dubey, Hardik Tamore who scored an unbeaten 28 runs (21-balls,2×4,1x6s) and Armaan Jaffer 24 runs (22-balls, 2x4s) were able to stay a bit long in the middle. Nadeem Shaikh (2 for 20) was Islam Gymkhana’s most successful blower.
