Giles Shield’18: Tons for Yug Gala, Abdul Hadi and Nutan Goel as they steer their teams to commanding wins
In the match between Swadhyay Bhavan Matunga and Children’s Welfare Center, BAK Swadhyay batting first notched up 392/9 in 45 overs where in Yug Gala grabbed all the attention with his confident batting. Yug smashed a fierce 164 along with Veer Doshi’s 94 which set the tone for their innings. Children’s Welfare Centre were all out for 80 runs with Rehan Gala taking 3/5 being the pick of the bowlers as BAK Swadhyay won the match by 312 runs.
Played at the Oval Maidan, VPM Vidya Mandir batting first notched up a target of 377 in 45 overs thanks to their openers Kaushik Shukla who scored a solid 93 and Abdul Hadi who went on to score a brilliant 114* (109 balls) laced with 12 boundaries. Not only were both the batsman impressive with their shots but they also stitched a big partnership. Fazlani Cricket Academy in reply were all out for 115 runs where in Aryan Pawar bagged 3 wkts while Atharva Lad and Shreyas Samant taking 2 wkts each.

In the match between Oxford Public School, Kandivali and Don Bosco,
Don Bosco Matunga despite suffering some early blows managed to score 246/6 in 45 overs. Nutan Goel who came at no.4 scored a brilliant 102* taking his team towards a defendable total. Nutan has been in impressive form with his last 3 innings now being 61*, 50 and 102*. Oxford School in return were all out for 110 runs as Don Bosco won by 136 runs.
