Dreamz Champions Trophy Regular A: Reliance defeat IndusInd to win title
Venue: Youth Union | Match Scorecard | Tournament Details
Reliance produced one of the clinical performances of the season to hand IndusInd Bank a crushing 9 wicket defeat in the Dreamz Champions Trophy Regular A finale and emerge as champions. Bowling first, Reliance did not put a foot wrong as they bundled out the opposition to a below 100 score and then chased down the target with 9 wickets to spare.
Only thing that went right for IndusInd Bank was the toss. But the rest of the day was just not theirs. Opting to bat first, they lost their opener Kailash in the very first over itself for a duck. Rest of the innings had a similar story as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals.Neither the run rate was increased nor could the wickets be saved. Sushant top scored with 22 followed by Yogesh who scored 17. Their batsmen could not withstand the accurate bowling by Reliance and succumbed to the final pressure. They were bundled out for 98 eventually.
It was a great day in the field for reliance as all the bowlers contributed to the team’s cause. Zaheer picked up 3 wickets while Siddharth, Ashay and Mayur captured 2 wickets each.
The writing was very clear after the first innings and Reliance batsmen wasted no time in taking their team to the victory. Openers gave a quick start scoring 78 runs in 11.4 overs when Rohit got out on a personal score of 40. Sushant and Abhinav finished the game with more than 6 overs to spare and no further loss of wickets. Kailash picked up the solitary wicket.
