Divyam Shah & Umar Khan power Vihang Group of Companies to an easy win in MCA Corporate Tournament’22
On March 2, All Cargo AG Sports Club and Vihang Group of Companies clashed against each other at Oval Maidan in Mumbai during the MCA (Mumbai Cricket Association) Corporate Tournament. Vihang Group of Companies won the toss and elected to bat first.
Batting first, Vihang Group of Companies were bundled out for 197 in 37.2 overs. The opening pair of Ravi Kumar Chaudhary and Vinit Mestry (44 runs off 45 balls) stitched a 71-run partnership off 87 balls to lay a solid foundation. Later, middle order batter and wicket-keeper Divyam Shah top scored with 59 runs off 47 balls, including five boundaries and a six. With a strike rate of over 125, Shah led from the front and helped his side post a respectable score on board. For All Cargo AG Sports Club, off spinner Deepak Bhogle was the pick of the bowlers as he struck with 3-39 in his seven overs. He was well supported by Anand Willams, Garv Jain and Shiesh Korpe, who chipped in with two wickets apiece.
In reply, All Cargo AG Sports Club were bowled out for 119 in 31 overs, losing the match by 78 runs. Apart from opening batter Bhogle, middle order batter Amish Dabholkar and Anand Willams, none of the other batters could register a double digit score. Dabholkar was the top performer with the bat for All Cargo AG Sports Club as he muscled a 69-ball 52, smashing eight boundaries. With the ball, Vihang Group of Companies had a good outing, thanks to off spinner Umar Khan, who wreaked havoc with 4-38 in his eight overs. Vicky Bhoir, Prathamesh Golatkar and Aryan Shejule struck with two scalps each.
Vihang Group of Companies’ Divyam Shah and Umar Khan were the top performers with bat and ball respectively, while for All Cargo AG Sports Club, all-rounder Deepak Bhogle and middle order batter Amish Dabholkar made noteworthy contributions.
