Divyaansh Saxena’s 178 puts Chandrakant Pandit XI in command in U25 Shalini Bhalekar Trophy’21
Shalini Bhalekar Tournament over the years have been a crucial platform for making it into the Mumbai U25 and Mumbai Senior Team contention. Players who are selected to play in this trophy give their best as watchful eyes are on their performances. Jahangir Pithawala XI after being put to bat first scored a total of 269/10 in 66.1 overs. Armaan Jaffer missed out on a well deserved hundred scoring 97 runs while Varun Lavande and Maxwell Swamianthan chipped in with 40’s.
Chandrakant Pandit XI in reply posted a massive total of 395/10 in 98.3 overs courtesy India U19 opener Divyaansh Saxena exhibiting a brilliant display of batting. The stylish left hander top scored for Chandrakant Pandit XI scoring an impressive knock of 178 almost scoring half of the team runs. Harshal Jadhav (89 runs) and Atharva Ankolekar (77 runs) also scored crucial half centuries. Saksham Jha with 5/113 was the pick of the lot as he came up with an impactful bowling performance.
Jahangir Pithawala in 2nd innings were all out for 97 runs in 2nd innings courtesy Atharva Poojari (4/26) and Minad Manjrekar (3/39) coming up with important spells.
