Dhumal scores a crucial 68 while spinner Kunal Gawand continues to impress with a yet another impressive spell of 7/36 in the C Div Kanga League’19
Juhu Vileparle Gymkhana after being put to bat first posted a 1st innings total of 156/10 in 37.4 overs. Even though it was a batting collapse with scoreboard reading 14/4, it was Yogesh Dhumal at no.6 hitting a match saving 68 off 96 balls (9 fours, 1 six). JVPG on the back of Yogesh’s brilliant 68 were powered from 14/4 to 156/10 in 37.4 overs. From the bowlers, Rahul Ratnaparkhi with 4/17 in 8 overs including 2 maidens was the pick of the bowlers.
Shivaji Park Youngsters despite a solid top order start were not able to capitalize thanks to a match winning spell of spin bowling by Kunal Gawand. Kunal came up with bowling figures of 7/36 in 8.4 overs coming up with wickets in almost every over which was throwned upon him. It was on the back of his futile spell, Shivaji Park Youngsters were restricted to 128 all out in 29.4 overs handing over a 1st innings win to JVPG team.
With 14wkts in 3 innings so far in Kanga at a stunning bowling average of mere 4.00, Kunal has been quite impressive and a spinner to watchout for in the coming months.
