Close Games As Well As Dominance: Tyrant Premier League Produces Drama

With the previous day washed out, extra games were accommodated on Day 3 of the Season 5 of the Tyrant Premier League organised by WallE Events but more games meant more action and that is exactly what happened!

Aashni Legends Start Off The Night With A Close Victory Over The Dark Knight Riders

An excellent bowling performance from the Aashni Legends secured a close victory against the Dark Knight Riders by just 7 runs. Winning the toss, the Dark Knight Riders elected to chase which in hindsight proved costly. The Legends managed only 86 in 13 overs. Opener Parth Deep scored almost 50 % of the total score (41 off 25) with 5 sixes to his name. Captain Manmeet was the only other batsman to score in the double digits. Rahil from the Knight Riders picked up 3 wickets in just one single over giving away only a run.
After an excellent bowling performance, it was time for the Dark Knight Riders to chase down a comparatively easy target. Nilay Nimeshbhai was the only batsman who got going against the Legends, scoring a modest 38 off 43 balls. Unfortunately, no other batter contributed and the Knight Riders were bundled up for 79. All bowlers from the Legends made sure the run rate is under control and also purchased timely wickets. Vishal was the best bowler as he took 2 wickets while Deep Shah gave only 6 runs away in his 2 overs taking a wicket.
Vishal was declared the Man Of The Match.

Strikers Chase Down Against The Romil Diamond Royals

The game between Romil Diamond Royals vs Aadi Strikers was quite one sided. Batting first, the Diamonds scored only 70 runs with the loss of 5 wickets. Skipper Abhishek Agarwal was the highest run getter (24 off 36) for the Royals. Overall, it looked an immense struggle for the team batting first. The bowling from the Strikers though was exquisite. No bowler gave away runs for more than the economy of 7.5 per over. Mittal Shah, Anshul Jogani and Ruchin Shah took 1 wicket each.
The Aadi Strikers comfortably chased down the target of 71 with almost 3 overs to spare. Nirmit gave a steady start to the innings as he faced 31 balls scoring 34 runs. After 3 quick wickets, Anshul Jogani (18 off 9) and skipper Mittal Shah (14 off 7) finished off the chase in style. Unfortunately, the Royals struggled throughout the game.
For his all-round performance, Anshul Jogani was adjudged Man Of The Match.

The Super Strikers With Back-To-Back Victories Of The Night

The Dark Knight faced the Super Strikes in their second game of night but the result was the same as the first one for them. The Knight Riders opted to field first but this plan backfired again as the Super Strikers hammered 94 in 13 overs for the loss of 6 wickets. Captain Abhishek Ajbani and Yashesh Arun Parikh were the pick of the batsman scoring 22 off 21 and 33 off 31 respectively. Nilay Nimeshbhai Dani was the best bowler as he picked up 2 wickets in 2 overs with an economy of 5.5.
When it was their time to bat, the Dark Knight Riders were nowhere. Coming down at number 6, Shukan Varia scored a valiant 37 but it was all in vain as they were all out for just 75. The bowler’s from the Super Strikers did an amazing job by picking up crucial wickets. Anees Kachwala, Abhishek Ajbani and Yashesh Arun Parikh, all took 2 wickets each.
For a swift victory by 19 runs, Abhishek Ajbani was declared the Man Of The Match for his super performance.

The Legends Prevail Over The Cobras

The Cobras and the Legends locked horns in a close encounter as the latter prevailed over by a margin of just 5 runs. After winning the toss, the Cobras asked Ashni Legends to bat first who scored a steep 91 in their 13 overs. After a poor start, Captain Manmeet and Rishi Tater anchored the rocking ship and scored 32 each. Hussain Bootwala and Shreyas from the Cobras picked up 2 wickets each in a rather costly innings. The Cobras were required to chase down the target of 91 with a run rate of just above 7.
The second innings began and the Cobras were 36 for 4 in just the 6th over. Captain Ayush Poddar somehow tried his level best by scoring a rapid fire 32 off just 23 deliveries but without the support of his comrades, they were short by just 5 runs.
For his 32 and a crucial wicket, Rishi Tater was the Man of The Match in this close encounter.

Dark Knight Riders Thrash The Cobras, Winning By 56 runs

In their final game of the night, the Knight Riders absolutely dominated the AH Cobras. Batting first, the Knight Riders made 92 in 13 overs for the loss of 7 wickets. Almost every batsman contributed towards the target but the innings was held by Shaival Sheth who made a run-a-ball 28 with 3 boundaries and a six. He was well supported by the likes of Rahil, Chintit and Nilay. The Cobras had an expensive bowling outing as they were hit for more than 7 runs per over. Hussain Bootwala and Sambhav Sanghavi took 2 wickets each.
The Cobras had a dismal time with the bat as they batted for 8 overs only and were bundled up for a poor 36. No batsmen scored in the double digits. Credit to the bowlers, all bowlers contributed towards a dominant performance. Nilay Nimeshbhai Dani bowled a captain’s spell by taking 4 wickets in his 2 overs giving away only 7 runs.
The game was emphatically won by the Dark Knight Riders by a whopping 56 runs  as skipper Nilay was rightfully declared as the Man Of The Match.

The Strikers Winning Streak Ends As Aashni Legends Win Out The Final Game Of The Night

In the final game of the night, Aashni Legends won against the Super Strikers in an another dominant fashion. The Super Strikers won the toss and unlike any other team this night elected to bat first but this didn’t go according to plan as they were restricted to 58 in 13 overs. Harsh Mehta and Sahil Shah scored 11 each but it wasn’t sufficient. As they ran out of overs, wickets tumbled and the game heavily swung towards the Legends. Atit and Vatsal bowled extremely well and picked up two wickets each. Atit gave away only 5 runs in his 2 overs.
The dismal first innings of the Strikers meant a hardship for their bowling unit. For the Legends, it was a cakewalk as they chased down the target of 64 with more than 5 overs to spare with 8 wickets in hand. Openers Parth (20 off 20) and Vishal (23 off 23) gave a steady start. The partnership of 38 was broken but it was too late for the Strikers to make a comeback. With a low target on board, there was minimum the bowlers could do to win the game.
Vatsal Vijay Shah was declared the Man of The Match for his supreme bowling and quick fire 12 off just 3 deliveries.

With this game, came a close to day 3 of the Tyrant Premier League Season 5.
