Chintamani Team and TC Challengers qualify for the finals of the Friends Premier League ‘19

In the match between Chinatamani Team and Taneesh Sports at the Yashwant Nagar Cricket Ground in Virar, Chinatamani Team who were at one stage 3 wkts down for 14 runs got back into the game thanks to some match saving cameos by Nikhil Kanchan and Mihir Shah at no.4 and 5. Nikhil chipped in with 38 runs while Mihir’s 53 ball 64 laced with 5 fours and 2 sixes proved to be a game changer as he propelled his team’s total from 14/3 to 145/8 in 20 overs. Abhijeet Karkhanis with 4/16 in 3 overs was the pick of the bowlers for Taneesh Sports.

Taneesh Sports did gave a tough fight with all-rounder Abhijeet Karkhanis (32*) and Praful Tambe (31*) putting on 61 runs in the last 6 overs but eventually their hard fought efforts fell short by just 4 runs reaching 141/5 in 20 overs. Chintamani team won the match by 4 runs and win the semi-finals of the tournament.

In the match between TCC and High Flyers on the same ground, High Flyers after opting to bat first scored were all out for 112 runs. TCC bowlers did a commendable job with as many as 4 bowlers picking up 2 wkts each. Chasing 113 was a mere formality as they chased down the score in just 13.4 overs winning the match by 7 wkts. Opener Upendra Yadav top scored anchoring the chase with 49* off 39 balls as TCC won the semi-finals.
