Anshul Murli & Moin Shaikh power Bombay gymkhana to a win in MCA u19 mangrol Cricket Tournament’22

On April 1, Bombay Gymkhana locked horns against Young Mohammedan Cricket Club during the MCA U19 Mangrol Cricket Tournament. Young Mohammedan Cricket Club won the toss and elected to bowl first.

Put in to bat, Bombay Gymkhana piled up 5-260 in their full quota of 40 overs. Anshul Murli, who opened the batting for Bombay Gymkhana top scored with a brilliant 77 off 80 balls. Murli smashed nine boundaries during his entertaining knock. On the other hand, Young Mohammedan Cricket Club had an ordinary outing with the ball as the bowlers failed to tame Bombay Gymkhana batters.

In reply, Young Mohammedan Cricket Club could only manage to score 68 as they were bundled out cheaply inside 21 overs. Moin Shaikh, who opened the bowling for Bombay Gymkhana, wreaked havoc with the ball as he scalped 6-26 in eight overs. Shaikh bowled exceedingly well with the new ball and made good use of the conditions.  

Anshul Murli and Moin Shaikh were the top performers of the match. The duo powered Bombay Gymkhana to a 192-run win over Young Mohammedan Cricket Club during the MCA U19 Mangrol Cricket Tournament.

Cricket is a sport that Juili picked up right from her childhood days. Her journey from playing with the boys in the compound walls to practising under the able aegis of Jonty Rhodes has been a spectacular one.
She was a part of Mumbai Women’s U-19 and U-23 probables during her four-year stint at the MCA. As a middle order bat and a part time medium pace bowler, she also represented Mumbai University at All-India University Women’s Cricket for two years.

In the quest of further education, she discontinued with the sport. Currently she is pursuing her Ph.D in Finance from IIT Bombay’s School of Management.
