The first season of the Advocates Premier League (APL) will kick start on April 14. The APL will be played across April 14 and April 15 at the Oval Ground in Churchgate, Mumbai. It will be a T20 tournament that will feature eight teams. Each team will have a squad of 15. The eight teams are, Borivali A, Thane 11, BABA Challengers , Pune family court, AAWI, (Law before Wicket) LBW XI, CMM Challengers and Mumbai Vakil Sangh. Advocates across Mumbai and Pune will feature in the APL. A total of seven matches will be played across the two days, including four matches on April 14 and three matches on April 15. APL will be a knock-out tournament.

CricketGraph got in touch with Adv. Kaustubh Gupte, an organizing member of the APL, to know more about the tournament. Gupte said, “This is for the first time we are having an APL. Though there have been many cricket tournaments for advocates and lawyers since the last 10 years, we plan to make APL a different one. For starters, we will be having a live coverage of all the matches. Every match will be shot on camera which will certainly encourage the players in the tournament. Apart from this, we are working on having other different things that will add value to the APL.”

Apart from Adv. Kaustubh Gupte, Adv. Suraj Gupte, Adv. Sudarshan Patankar, Adv. Ninad Muzumdar, Adv. Vinay Dali and Adv. Shankar Parab are the other members in the organizing committee. Senior Adv. Ravi Hirani and Adv. Aleem Shaikh have also extended their support for the smooth conduct of the APL.
