Anirudh Nair & Anshul Moraje power IES to 319-run win in Mumbai Indians Junior Under 16
On December 21, IES VN Sule English School handed a crushing 319-run defeat to Chatrabhuj Narsee Memorial School during the super league match of the Mumbai Indians Junior Under 16 in Mumbai. Chatrabhuj Narsee Memorial School won the toss and elected to field.
Batting first, IES VN Sule English School posted a mammoth 403/7 in 34 overs on the back of a stellar century from Anirudh Nair. Nair muscled an unbeaten 105 off 81, hitting 12 boundaries and clearing the rope four times. Besides Nair, Shreyansh Rai (29), Shreyash Lad (28), and Shaurya Rai (38) were the other major contributors with the bat. On the other hand, Neev Bharodiya was the most successful bowler for Chatrabhuj Narsee Memorial School, as he claimed 56/2 in seven overs.
In reply, Chatrabhuj Narsee Memorial School were bundled out for 84 in 25.2 overs, losing the match by 319 runs. The opening pair of Heel Gabani (30) and Jash Sheth (20) provided a steady start to the run chase with a 54-run partnership. However, the rest of the batting order collapsed like a pack of cards as the team lost nine wickets for 30 runs. Anshul Moraje was the pick of the bowlers for IES VN Sule English School as he scalped 5/4 in eight overs, including six maidens. The off-spinner bowled eight overs on the trot and gave the first breakthrough to his team.
