All-rounder Vishal Shah steers Osian Cricket Club to a 38-win over Chembur Gymkhana
On Saturday, Osian Cricket Club took on Chembur Gymkhana during the GDCL in Mumbai. Winning the toss and electing to bowl first, Chembur Gymkhana was at the receiving end of some extravagant batting display from Osian Cricket Club. Opening batsman Vishal Shah was the performer of the day with the bat as he muscled 58 off 39, smashing 10 boundaries. Coming lower down the order, Viral Somaiya scored a quickfire 30 off just 16, which included five boundaries and a six. Osian Cricket Club put up a challenging 177-9 in 20 overs. With the ball, Janak Mehta and Suraj Lalwani bowled well in tandem to scalp two wickets apiece.
In reply, Chembur Gymkhana failed to give a tough fight as the side was bundled out for a paltry 139 in 19.4 overs, falling short of 38 runs. A few of their batsmen got off to starts but failed to capitalize. Suraj Lalwani (22), Prashant Nair (26), Chirag Amin (23), and Sundeep Bhawsar (21) looked good but could not carry along. For Osian Cricket Club, it was Pratik Sheth who wrecked havoc with the ball as he picked up 3-29 in his four overs. Parth Tolia and Aditya Singh accounted for couple of dismissals each, with Vishal Shah and Kaivan Shah managing to scalp solitary wicket apiece.
Osian Cricket Club’s Vishal Shah bagged the Man of the Match for his brilliant performance, with both, bat and ball.
