All-rounder Harsh Mehta guides NSCI to a 78-run victory against MCA XI

A lopsided match between National Sports Club of India (NSCI) and Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) XI was witnessed on April 13 at Chembur gymkhana, Mumbai during the GDCL. Batting first, NSCI posted a humongous total of 210-5 in 20 overs, thanks to a powerpacked batting display. Opening batsman Paras Zaveri smashed 53 off 24, hitting 12 boundaries. The middle order complimented Zaveri well as Jairaj Thakkar (34), Vishal Shah (35), Harsh Mehta (35 not out), and Sanjay Bohra (39 not out) contributed significantly with the bat. Aarya Diwan was the pick of the bowlers for MCA as he scalped 3-18 in his four overs.

In reply, MCA was done as dusted for a modest 132 in 17.5 overs, thus falling short of 78 runs. Apart from Kumar Adnani (23), Yash Ramchandani (22 not out), and Amit Nayyar (27), none of the other batsmen got off to a start. Harsh Mehta (3-32 in four overs) and Kalpesh Sanghvi (2-34 in four overs) bowled well in tandem to bundle out MCA inside 20 overs.

Harsh Mehta of NSCI was presented with the Man of the Match award for his stellar performance with both, bat and ball.
