Aarush and Anirudh take 7wkts together to lead Billabong School to a win in the Singhania U-16 Tournament

The Raymond cricket ground witnessed an exciting encounter between two promising teams namely Billabong International School & VPM school. VPM won the toss & elected to bat first to put the opposition under pressure.

However, Billabong boys had some different plans in store for them as the entire batting line up of VPM crumbled in no time. In fact VPM should thank those 23 extras which Billlabong conceded which made them cross the 50 run mark. The star bowler of the match turned out to be their left-arm spinner Aarush Patankar as he scalped 4/5 in 2.5 overs. These are some stunning bowling figures for a U-16 boy like Aarush as he bowled in the right areas & kept on confusing the batsman with his effective spin. Aarush was firmly supported by Anirudh Iyer as he also bowled well taking 3/11 in his 3 overs with his pace bowling.

Billabong chased down the score in just 10.4 overs & won the match comfortably by 6wkts though Sanath pawar looked promising with the ball taking 3wkts where all of them were clean bowleds.

Billabong won the match & spinner Aarush Patankar was declared ‘man of the match’. The award was presented by Mr. Rajan Iyer secretary of Sri Maa Vidyalaya for his brilliant bowling which also included a stunning hat-trick.
