Jhaveri Carries Scorchers As Strikers Fall Short By 6 Runs

The ongoing IDFC First Bank Member’s Premier League for MCA RC BKC members produced an enticing game between the Spottlight Social Scorchers and Prachi Diamond Strikers. After asked to bat first, the Scorchers scored 154 in 20 overs. 3 Number batsman Abhishek Jhaveri single handedly carried the innings as he scored 84 in just 52 balls with 3 boundaries and 7 sixes. Despite the lack of support, Jhaveri carried on and helped his team reach a respectable total.

Keyur Shah was the pick of the bowlers, claiming 3 wickets in 4 overs, conceding 27 runs. Apart from him skipper Ojas Mehta claimed 2 wickets as Aniruddha Bhosale bowled an exceptional spell as he conceded just 7 runs in 2 overs with a wicket to his name.

Prachi Diamonds Strikers set out to chase but lost consistent wickets at Scorchers managed to keep things tight. Skipper Mehta (23 off 15), Sumiran Mehta (25 off 24) and Ashraya Rao (32 off 26) tried their level best but fell short as the Scorchers won the game by just 6 runs.

Every bowler played a crucial role. Vaidya’s spell of 21/1 in 4 overs was the best of the lot as almost every bowler claimed a wicket.

There were no surprises in the Man of the Match as Abhishek Jhaveri was presented the award.
