Fast Bowlers Tushar Deshpande & Sylverster D Souza dominate in BPCL’s win in A Div Times Shield’22
Played at MCA Kandivali in Mumbai, Mumbai Customs after being put to bat first were cleaned up for 177 runs courtesy Tushar Deshpande running through their batting line with a fiery bowling spell of 5/31 in 15.4 including 6 maidens. Tushar was well supported by Sylvester D Souza (3 wkts) and Minad Manjrekar (2 wkts) as the pace trio proved to be a deadly combination for Mumbai Customs.
BPCL in reply scored 386/7 courtesy their top order players coming good with the bat. Openers Akshat Jain (66 runs) and Bhavin Thakkar (53 runs) gave the perfect start to the innings while it was Pranav Kela at no.3 who top scored in the match with a brilliant knock of 110 runs facing 182 balls. Pranav’s century also included 11 boundaries as he stitched a crucial partnership with Harshal Jadhav who scored 58 runs at no.4
Mumbai Customs in the 2nd innings were all out for 167 runs and it was again fast bowlers making an impact. Speedster Sylvester returned with bowling figures of 5/25 in 13 overs including 5 maidens while Tushar Deshpande took 4/31 in 12 overs as both the pacers made life difficult for the Mumbai Custom Batters.
Result: Bharat Petroleum won the match by an innings & 43 runs
