Thane’s Dadaji Konddev Stadium to host a BCCI Match after 25 years…
Thane Mahanagar Palika and Mumbai Cricket Association to jointly host the Mumbai vs Bengal game of the 44TH Col CK Naydu Tournament at the iconic Dadaji Konddev Stadium. It will be the Group B Elite Game where our Dadaji Konddev stadium will again come to light on India’s Map.
Dadaji Konddev Stadium which is completely renovated will be inaugurated by Former India Captain Dilip Vengsarkar and Thane Mayor Naresh Mhaske. The stadium was okayed by a BCCI inspection team and the wicket is prepared by none other than the experienced Nadeem Memon who is a Wankhede Stadium curator and MCA Apex Council Committee Member. This has also been possible because of MCA Apex Council Member Vihang Sarnaik who is the son of MLA Pratap Sarnaik from Thane. The ground was renovated under Thane Municipal Corporation with a budget of 5-6 crores.
The 1st Ranji Trophy Match at Dadaji Konddev Stadium was conducted on 4th to 6th December, 1982 between Mumbai vs Baroda and the scoring was done by Thane Friendship Cricket Club’s Vivek Morekar who manually maintained the scoring of a first class game without a single mistake!
