Amit Manubarwala’s quick 58 steers AVM Yoddhas to a win in the Zooter International School Dad’s Tournament’19
Utpal Warriors electing to bat first notched up a competitive total of 163/9 in 20 overs at the Somaiya Cricket Ground powered by a brilliant 61 by Minesh Shah. Opening the innings with Jinen Shah, Minesh shah ensured a quickfire 70 run stand for the 1st wicket as he went on to score a blazing 61 off 49 balls (5 fours). Asgar Khan coming at no.4 also played really well in his 25 ball 43 pushing the team towards a defendable total. From the bowlers, Javed Siddiqui with 4/32 was the pick of the lot for AVM Yoddhas.
Chasing 164, things were getting difficult for AVM Yoddhas as they were losing wickets at quick intervals but it was some solid resistance by their opener Amit Manubarwala who stitched the chase with a solid 58 off 43 balls. Amit smashed 7 fours and a six while Samir Kaul’s match winning cameo of 16 ball 37* at no.7 ensured AVM Yoddhas chased down the total winning the match by 3 wkts & 2 balls to spare.
