Rudra Dhandey scores a sublime 100 vs Fort Vijay in the Div ‘A’ of the Kanga League 2017/18
It was a match between two experienced teams namely Karnatak Sporting Association & Fort Vijay at Cross Maidan in Mumbai. Karnatak Sport Association won the toss & elected to bat first as the wicket looked favorable to post a good score.
Batting first, Karnatak SA declared their innings at 158/8 and it right handed opener Rudra Dhandey was the sole shining spot in the strong batting line up of Karnatak. Had Rudra not scored a century, the team could have been all-out for a very low total. Opener Rudra who is usually known for his aggressive batting & even recently came into the news for his fastest double century in a T20 Game showed his other side with the bat as he showed he can patiently too in the longer formats. Rudra scored an unbeaten 100* off 145balls (3fours, 2sixes) and worked hard between the wickets to get his three figures. Left-arm spinner Farhan Kazi once again showed his capabilities with the ball as he scalped 5/54 in his 24overs being the pick of the bowlers.
In reply, Fort Vijay CC managed to score 57/4 before the match got ended in a draw. Right-handed Rahul Lad remained unbeaten on 20* while Prathamesh Dake took 2wkts. Overall, it was a good perfomance by the boys & especially Farhan and Rudra. Cricketgraph congratulates Farhan & Rudra for their individual performances while wishes both the teams luck for a great year in cricket ahead.
