Chirag Negi and Yash Chaudhary steers Sonnet Club to a big win in the 2nd Master Taksham U/12 Tournament

As we have already witnessed, U/12 Master Taksham Tournament has been a perfect place for youngsters to display their talent and one such special perfomance was from the very young and talented Chirag Negi who displayed a promising all round perfomance.

Organized by Bimla Devi Dobal Cricket Academy and played at MRV School sector 13, Dwarka, it was a crucial match between two promising teams namely DIS Academy Dwarka & Sonnet Club where in Sonnet Club batted first and did a very commendable job with the bat notching up 233 runs in their 1^st innings. Left-handed Chirag Negi smashed a sprightly 80 and hardly wasted any time at the crease playing aggressive cricket. Chirag also got good support from Rahul Bagh who smashed a solid 73 to take their team to a very competitive total.

Chasing such a big total, DIS Academy Dwarka managed to make only 66/8 in 30 overs. Their batting could have been a little better as they were quite slow in their chase. Wonderful bowling by Yash Chaudhary set the tone for the match as he took 5wkts while giving just 3runs in 6 overs. Chirag Negi also bowled well chipping in with 2/4.

Sonnet Club won the match by a big margin of 165 runs & Chirag Negi was declared ‘man of the match’ for his brilliant perfomance in the match. With this win Sonnet CC also enters the semi-finals.
