Young opener Faizan Rabbani ‘s half century steers Rizvi to a finale win in the DSO under 17 Tournament
It was the all important finals between two teams who have fought their way hard to reach the ultimate face off namely Al-Barkat MMI & Rizvi Springfield High school at the cross maidan where in Al Barkat boys won the toss and elected to bat first in order to make a big total and put the opposition under pressure.
Batting first, Al Barkat scored a decent 97/4 in 15 overs which is defendable though a score of 110+ could have done no harm! Opener Shadak Khan was the highest scorer as he scored 46 off just 28balls (2fours, 2sixes) to steer his team to atleast 90+ . Saad Sheik bowled well taking 2wkts while the rest of the bowlers also did a fairly decent job.
Chasing 98 at 6runs+ per over, opener Faizan Rabbani from Rizvi Springfield took the responsibility of chasing on his shoulders as he scored a match winning 60* off just 42balls(7fours, 2sixes) which helped his team chase down the score successfully. Faizan played confidently and anchored his team’s chase as they won the match comfortably by 8wkts and 8balls to spare while Faizan was declared ‘player of the match’. Cricketgraph congratulates Rizvi Springfield High School for their title win while wishes luck to all the players for a great season ahead.
