Yogesh Sawant’s Seven-fer Goes in vain as DPC Sports Club Lose in Purushottam Shield’22
On April 15 and April 16, National Cricket Club and DPC Sports Club clashed against each other at DPC Matunga, Mumbai during the Purushottam Shield. National Cricket Club won the toss and elected to bat first.
Riding on Sumit Dekhale’s blistering 143 off 68 balls, National Cricket Club piled up a mammoth 309 in 52.1 overs. Coming in at number nine, the left handed Dekhale smashed 12 boundaries and 11 sixes during his blitzkrieg. On the other hand, DPC Sports Club’s bowling attack was led by Yogesh Sawant, who wreaked havoc with 7-99 in 21.1 overs, including two maidens. Sawant, a left arm spinner, bowled the maximum number of overs for his side and looked the most impressive.
In reply, DPC Matunga Sports Club were bundled out cheaply for 142 in 36.4 overs. Aditya Srivastava top scored with 47 runs off 81 balls, while for National Cricket Club, Shashikant Kadam and Sanket Kashte struck with three wickets apiece.
DPC Sports Club lost to National Cricket Club by a massive margin of 167 runs. Yogesh Sawant’s seven wicket-haul went in vain as his team DPC Sports Club failed to chase down the total against National Cricket Club in the Purushottam Shield.
