Womens U-19 Inter Zonal Two Day tournament updates
After the senior women’s T20 bash, it was now time for the junior girls to feature in U-19 Women’s Inter Zonal Two Day tournament. There are five zones; East, West, North, South and Central, that will play ten matches across the tourney. The tournament is played in Ranchi, Jharkhand. On Wednesday, two matches were played; Central Zone vs East Zone and South Zone vs North Zone.
Central Zone declared their innings at 232-8 and invited East Zone to bat. Nuzhat Parween (67) top scored for Central Zone and received good support from Disha Kasat (41) and Sangeeta Kumawat (51). Sushree Dibyadarshini (4-74) was the pick of the bowlers for East Zone. In response, East Zone could manage 189-8, ending the match in a draw. Both the teams secured one point each.
In another match South Zone declared their innings at 235-9, riding on Ellutla Padmaja’s (90) batting brilliance. Harleen Deol (3-45) was the standout bowler for North Zone. In reply, North Zone were bowled out for 138 and the match ended in a draw with South Zone taking a lead of 97 runs. North Zone secured one point and South Zone bagged three points.
