Wellington wins on the back of Mateen Mansoor’s 7wkts for 2 runs & Sagar Shah’s 121 in the Bombay Junior Tournament’19
Played between Wellington Cricket Club and BRD CC at the Goregaon Sports Club, Wellington team after being made to bat first scored 261/7 in 44 overs. Despite their openers falling out cheaply, Wellington CC were back into the game thanks to a brilliant knock by Sagar Shah at no.3. Sagar scored 121 off 97 balls which had 10 fours and 7 sixes while Lalit Sharma gave good support with a solid 90 ball 63.
Defending 261, left-arm spinner Mateen Mansoori came up with one of the best spells of the Bombay Junior Tournament taking 7 wkts for mere 2 runs in 4 overs. The left arm spinner proved to be too heavy for the BRD batsman as his record bowling figures restricted BRD to mere 58 runs all out.
Wellington CC won the match by 203 runs while it was Mateen winning the hearts while Sagar stamping his presence as an all format batsman.
