It was a very crucial match for VN Sule as a win would propel them in the semi finals. After winning the toss, VN Sule elected to bat first as they have a solid batting line up.

Their frontline skipper and opener Vedprakash Jaiswal notched up 2nd double century of the season and he is looking all set for the big things. Skipper Ved scored 224 off just 252 balls at a strike rate of above 80 which included 24 silken boundaries (sweepshot boundary was his favorite) which showed his immense class and talent with the bat. While he targeted spinners with ease, he did not take much risk against the pace bowlers. It was once again Ved becoming the anchor for the team scoring more than half of the runs for his side. Aman khan also batted well for his 66 and gave decent support to his skipper Jaiswal.

As Ved told to Cricketgraph ‘his aim was to score big and make team win” as simple as that. He knew if he manages to score well, his team will be in a safe haven and that was what he did with class and grace. Ved also did a lot of running between the wickets with 128 runs coming though pure running between the wickets Trailing 367, Gokuldham were all out for 77 in the first innings which made them to follow on. Gokuldham’s sloppy batting again came on display as they were all out 120 in the 2nd innings. A major credit in the bowling department must go to the left arm spinner Atharva Bhosle who bagged 12 wickets in the match (4/7 & 8/34) to dismantle the opposition. His 12/41 was equally crucial as Ved’s double century.

The cross maidan (Karnataka cricket association) witnessed two splendid and exquisite individual performances which helped VN Sule fetch a win by 170 runs and an innings. Skipper Vedprakash Jaiswal again added a ‘man of the match award’ in his cabinet and he will take his team ahead in the semi finals with a renewed zest.

Their legendary 77yr old coach Mr. Gopal Koli sir who has trained numerous kids to make them reach the highest levels of cricket must be elated to see his young kids performing so well.
