Vedant Khambe bags 6wkts while spinner Kartik Mishra takes a 12 wkt haul vs U/23 Ravi Shastri XI in the Madhav Mantri Tournament ‘18

Played at the Sachin Tendulkar Gymkhana at Kandivali, two really promising young teams-Ravi Shastri XI and Rohit Sharma XI of U23 groups clashed against each other where in Ravi Shastri’s boys won the toss and elected to bat first on a track which had good support for the batsman.

Their decision to bat first seemed to have fallen flat with Ravi Shastri XI getting bundled out for 188runs in 58.2 overs. Most of the batsmen failed to convert their starts with Chinmay Sutar being the top scored with 41runs. From the bowlers-Kartik Mishra bowled a superb spell of 5/54 in 13.2 overs as he kept on bowling consistently well in the right areas while also extracted a good spin from the wicket. Apart from him Amit Mishra bagged 2wkts. U/23 Rohit Sharma XI were given a equal fight as they were all out for 177runs with their opener Hardik Tamore top scoring with 66 while the rest of the batting collapsed on the back of Vedant Khambe’s terrific bowling spell of 6/55 in 15.2 overs. Vedant bowled in the right areas and foxed the batsman successfully with his wily spin.

Ravi Shastri Boys again collapsed in the 2^nd innings and this time for just 145runs all out as spinner Kartik Mishra bamboozled the batsman with his wily spin. Kartik foxed the batsman with his smart bowling he took another 7wkts in the 2^nd innings taking his tally of wickets to 12 in the match. Rohit Sharma XI chased down the score comfortably with Utkarsh Raut (46*) and Siddarth Akre (36*) remaining unbeaten helping their team win the match by 7wkts.

It was a dominating show by U/23 Rohit Sharma players while Kartik Mishra stood out as the best performer with 5wkt hauls in both the innings.
