Utpal Warriors win on the back of Vishal Merwana’s 53 in the Zooter International School Dad’s Tournament’19
Utpal Warriors batting first at Somaiya Cricket Ground posted a defendable total of 146/7 in 20 overs. Despite two early wickets of their openers, it was Vishal Merwana steadying the ship for his team as he anchored the innings with a gutsy 53 off 42 balls. Vishal’s innings consisted of 3 fours and 3 sixes while the rest of the batters batted around him to push their team towards a competitive total. From the bowlers, Jigar Shah with 4/25 in 4 overs was the pick of the lot.
Rising Strikers in reply could only managed to score 103/8 in 20 overs as Utpal Warriors bowlers gave a hard time to the batsman not allowing them to score runs freely. With most of them bowling economical spells, it was Kalpesh Mehta with 4/19 in 4 overs who was the pick of the bowlers. His game changing spell along with Vishal’s half century ensured Utpal Warriors won the match by 43 runs.
