Umesh Patwal roped in as Head Coach of Pokhra Rhinos in Everest Premier League’21
International Cricket Coach Umesh Patwal who has conducted many international assignments is now roped in as the Head Coach of Pokhra Rhinos team in the Everest Premier League. EPL which stands for Everest Premier League is one of the flagship T20 Tournaments of Nepal which will be conducted at Kathmandu between 25th September to 9th October 2021.
The dates were announced by Nepal Cricket Association and it will coincide with the Vijaydashmi Festival in Nepal. A total of 6 teams will participate in this marquee tournament with Lalitpur Patriots being the defending champions. The tournament will have many domestic and international cricketers of Nepal as well as from around the world participating in the competition. The tournament will likely feature many International stars right from the likes of Kevin O Brien, Chris Gayle, Upul Tharanga, Paul Stirling, Dwayne Smith, Sikandar Raza, Mohammad Shahzad, Keserick Williams, Liam Plunkett to name a few.
Umesh Patwal (BCCI Level 2 & Cricket Australia Level 3) is a prolific cricket coach who has worked with many international teams in his prolific career. Umesh has been the batting coach of Afghanistan in 2018 while he has also been the Head Coach of Nepal National Team. Umesh was also the assistant coach of Indian Premier League (IPL) team Kochi Tuskers Kerala in 2011. In 2018, Umesh Patwal was the technical director of Nepalese Franchise League Pokhara Premier League.
