Two stalwarts-Pujara and Jaffer ensure a smooth win for Indian Oil Sports Club in the Times Shield A Div ‘19
BPCL after opting to bat first just managed to post a modest total of 256 runs for their 1st innings against an opposition team which consisted Wasim Jaffer and Cheteshwar Pujara.
The experienced Vinit Indulkar who has been scoring runs ever since we remember at the grassroot level consistently scored a polished 74 runs while Aakarshit Gomel was equally good for his 70 runs. From Indian Oil, Rajesh Pawar and Aamir Gani with 4wkts each were the pick of the bowlers.
Indian Oil Sports Club in reply posted 318/10 in 114.2 overs where in Indian Test Team’s batting mainstay Cheteshwar Pujara came good with crucial 74 runs. On the other hand, India’s most successful domestic batsman and a veteran Wasim Jaffer scored 73 runs which was a sight to behold. For all the young players it was certainly a rich experience to play alongside such experienced cricketers.
Aamir Gani who had taken 4/112 with the ball also chipped in with the bat scoring a handy 64 runs.
BPCL batted for 16 overs for the loss of one wkt and 62 runs in their 2nd innings before the end of the game’s play wherein Indian Oil won the match on 1st innings lead in the 3 day test encounter.
