Let’s take a look at the Mumbai’s Women Stars emerging out from the U23 Women’s ODI Tournament’19

After Mumbai Women’s team clinching its 6th ODI win in 8 matches, the girls seems to be on a roll with everyone contributing in their capacity. The team has showed a lot of grit and courage defeating major teams under crunch situations.

The latest victory came against Hyderabad where Mumbai team after batting first put on a total of 158/9 in 50 overs. Jemimah registered her 6th score of 50+ in 8 matches which just shows how big a prodigy she is. Defending a modest total of 158, Mumbai bowlers did an excellent job of restricting Hyderabad to just 146 runs all out in 49.2 overs. The last over was a thriller but Mumbai girls came out victorious on the back of some really tight bowling where in Jagravi Pavar with 3/14 in 10 overs and 3 maidens proved to be a havoc over the Hyderabad batswomen.

Mumbai girls have certainly made all of us proud, hence, lets take a look at some of the players who stood out in the tournament for Mumbai.

1. Saniya Raut-

Matches-8, Wkts-18, Average-11.16, Best-5/18

Saniya Raut has been the leader of the pack in the bowling department with a 3wkt haul, 4wkt haul and a 5wkt haul all in her kitty. Saniya has bagged 18 wkts in 8 ODI’s which are some stunning numbers at an impressive bowling average of 11.16 and best bowling figures of 5/18 in 10 overs vs Tripura.

2. Jemimah Rodrigues-

Matches-8, 50’s5, 100’s-2, Runs-584, Average-97.33, Best- 106 alongwith 6 wkts

Goes without a saying, she is not only the highest run getter of Mumbai team but also overall in the Tournament. In 8 ODI’s, Jemimah smashed 5 half centuries and 2 hundreds at a stunning batting average of 97.33 and a strike rate hovering above 93.00+. With 584 runs in 8 ODI’s alongwith 6 wkts, she has been the most utility and prolific player coming out from the U23 Mumbai team.

3. Vrushali Bhagat-

Matches-8, Runs-193, Average-27.57, Best- 64 & Wkts-8

Vrushali Bhagat has been that one utility all-rounder whose contribution in the entire match may not be even visible to many. Chipping in with the bat with 20’s and crucial cameos, coming up with a wicket or two at regular intervals has been her forte so far and she is surely proving to be one fruitful all-rounder in the side.

 4. Manali Dakshini-

Matches– 8, Innings– 6, Runs-145, Average- 24.16, Highest-49.  wkts-11

Manali has been one player who has been giving impactful performances for Mumbai team. At a time when most of the batters have been playing at a modest strike rate apart from Jemimah, Manali has been one batswomen at no.7 who holds the ability to score at a strike rate of 100+. Her 55 ball 49 vs Maharashtra and 37 ball 43 vs Delhi at no.7 are testimony of her batting abilities. Apart from that, she has chipped in with 2wkt hauls as many as 5 times in 8 matches making her more than reliable with the ball too. Her spell of 10 overs, 6 maidens and 8 runs vs Tripura will be remembered by her and her team mates for a long time.
