Would you grab the opportunity with both the hands if two international players who have done enough in the field of cricket for their respective countries come together to coach you? Well! we are sure most of the kids or aspiring cricketers will say “Yes”.

One is the Sri Lankan Legend Chaminda Vaas who needs no introduction. A veteran of 111 Tests, 322 ODI’s & a tally of 655 wickets, these figures tells it all. On the other hand is our very own mumbaikar Wasim Jaffer, the man who has scored 2 double centuries for India in Test Cricket (including one against arch rival Pakistan). A man who is no less than an iconic figure of India in first class cricket. In fact he is a bigger name in first class cricket than many International Indian Icons as he has amassed over 17,000 runs & 51 centuries in first class cricket. The good news is both these veterans are coming together to coach boys in Mumbai & it can’t get better than this!

Jwala Sports Foundation is launching a new cricket coaching programme in association with Brain 4Sports in Mumbai known as “Centre of Excellence for Cricket”. The boys from U-14 & U-16 will get selected by Jwala Sports Foundation to get trained under the stint of Wasim Jaffer & Chaminda Vaas for a period of two weeks.

These will be full day camps for its entire duration and all the aspects of cricket right from the art of Fast Bowling, Batting, Fielding Skills, Match Temperament, Fitness & Training, Cricket Psychology & Mental Toughness will be covered. It’s basically a complete A to Z cricket coaching camp under the excellent Guidance of these two international cricketers. These two weeks can completely revamp a player as far as his cricketing skills or cricketing aspirations are concerned & such opportunities doesn’t come everyday for sure.

Some Important Pointers-

Players between the age 12 to 21 can participate in the form of 4 groups starting from u-12, u-14, u-16, u-18 and u-21
The 1^st round of selection has been completed at Oval Maidan on 27^th february between 9am to 3om.
70 Kids have been selected so far and will undergo the next steps/procedures for the final selection

Overall between 60 to 75 kids will be selected for this program but the number has been increased from 75 to 90 because of the great response it has received.
The next round of selection trial will be conducted in the 1^st week of April (The dates will come out soon!)
All the selected players will get a special uniform, & there will daily practice under the stint of Wasim Jaffer & Chaminda Vaas between 9am to 3pm along with breakfast and lunch facilities.
Vinayak Samant, Prashant Shetty & Santosh Shinde will be the sub-coaches under Wasim Jaffer & Chaminda Vaas.
All the players will get a participation certificate on the completion of program signed & approved by Wasim Jaffer & Chaminda Vaas.
Jwala Singh (the director of Mumbai Cricket Club -MCC & Brain 4Sports) is responsible for this wonderful initiative which is a first of its kind in India. Jwala Singh is also regarded as one of the top coaches in the city, so overall it’s going to be a once in a lifetime exposure for kids.
