Tanush yields magic with the ball while Divyansh scores his 3rd back to back half century in the Vinoo Mankad Trophy ‘17
Played at the BKC MCA, it was a match between two strong sides namely Mumbai and Gujarat where in Mumbai won the toss and elected to field first considering the bowler friendly conditions and a rainy weather.
Batting first, Gujarat scored 184/9 in 50 overs falling just 15-20 runs short of what could have been a competitive target to defend. Even though the top order struggled but it was Hemang Patel at no.7 who rescued his team out of trouble by scoring a valiant 65 off just 70balls (7fours, 2sixes) . Left-arm spinner Tanush Kotian yielded magic with the ball as he came up with excellent bowling figures of 6/31 in 10 overs. Tanush bowled in the right areas and certainly reminded us of Jadeja.
Chasing 185 was a mere formality for the Mumbai boys as their in-form opener Divyansh Saxena came up with yet another half century taking his tally of fifties to 3 in 3matches. Divyansh scored run a ball solid 69 while the rest of the batsman kept on chipping in with 20’s and 30’s to win the match by 6wkts and 15.4 overs to spare. It was a well fought match but it was Tanush’s bowling which remained the highlight perfomance of the match. Cricketgraph congratulates the winning team while wishes luck to all the players for a great season ahead.
