Space Sports Club’s Rugved More stars with the bat in Times Shield

Gr. Mumbai Police Sports Club ‘A’ and Space Sports Club locked horns against each other from December 27 to 29 during the Times Shield. These two teams form a part of the ‘B’ Division in the tournament.

Batting first, Space Sports Club posted 299 in 95.3 overs. Gautam Waghela (92) and Rugved More (124 not out) were the star performers with the bat for Space Sports Club. While Waghela smashed 13 boundaries, More hammered 14 and cleared the rope thrice. On the other hand, Gr. Mumbai Police Sports Club’s Yogesh Patil was the pick of the bowlers with 56/4.

In reply, Gr. Mumbai Police Sports Club were bowled out for 168 in 60.5 overs. Siddhant Singh top-scored with 63 for Gr. Mumbai Police Sports Club. On the other hand, Space Sports Club’s Siddharth Mhatre was the most successful bowler with 14/3.

Taking a healthy lead of 131, Space Sports Club added another 80 runs for the loss of two wickets in the second innings. Picking up from where he had left in the first innings, Rugved More chipped in with an unbeaten 22 off 32. On the other hand, Yogesh Patil and Atharv Bhagat claimed one scalp apiece for Gr. Mumbai Police Sports Club.

Chasing 212, Gr. Mumbai Police Sports Club got off to a flying start, scoring 65/1 in 10 overs. Rohit Pol took the attack to the opposition with his 25-ball 42, which included three boundaries and four sixes. For Space Sports Club, Varun Joijode was the lone wicket-taker.

The match between CGST and Mafatlal ended in a draw, with Space Sports Club taking a first-innings lead.
