Some Good Bowling and a solid 77 by Rakesh Naik helps Patni win in the JD Sports Cricket Tournament
The Sassanian cricket ground witnessed a wonderful encounter between two competitive teams namely TIFR & Patni XI. On a good batting track like Sassanian TIRF won the toss & elected to bat first with an aim of putting a big total on the board.
However, things did not ago as per the TIRF’s plans as they were skittled out for just 125/10 in 20 overs which is very much chaseable by any team on any given day. Off-spinner Sandeep Nayak was the pick of the bowlers taking 3/14 in his 2.3 overs followed by 2wkts each for medium pacers mohhamad Kazi & Hritik. It was a collectively good bowling perfomance where the bowlers did not only kept bowling in the right areas but also stayed economical & took wickets on time.
Chasing 126 in 20 overs, left-handed Rakesh Naik finished off the game in style as he scored a brilliant 77* at the top of the order coming off just 60balls. Rakesh Naik smashed 8fours & a six and played the finisher’s role to perfection.
Patni XI won the match comfortably by 8wkts & left-handed opener Rakesh Naik was declared ‘man of the match’ for his brilliant innings at the top of the order. Cricketgraph congratulates rakesh & the whole team and wishes them all the luck for their future matches too.
