Skipper Bhavik Patel puts up an all-round show as Bharat CC win the B Group Kanga Knockout Tournament ‘18
Played between Bharat CC and Milton CC at the Bombay Gymkhana Ground, Azad Maidan. It was the all important finals between two really promising teams who have fought their way hard to reach the finals. Bharat CC who won the toss elected to bat first on a track which looked to bat on.
Bharat CC batting first did a commendable job as they notched up 309/6 in 45 overs which is a very good total to defend on this ground. Captain Bhavik Patel who opened the innings led from the front scoring a really crucial 126 off mere 93balls. Bhavik took on the bowlers with disdain smashing 19boundaries as he did not allow the momentum to change in the opposition’s favor despite a few wickets being lost in between. At the middle order, Sumedh Kamble and Prakash Aswani also gave crucial contributions with 43 & 46 respectively.
Chasing 310 in a finals at almost 7 to 8runs per over is always difficult as there is a lot of pressure and Milton CC did succumbed to the pressure of chasing getting all out for 140runs in 37.5overs. It was again Bhavik with the ball too as he took 4/27 in 9overs with his effective left arm spin making it an all-round perfomance.
Bharat CC won the finals and win the Kanga Knockout Tournament in style with the whole team performing really well together while it was definitely skipper Bhavik stealing the show in finals.
