Shams Picks up 10! Mumbai wins Quarters over Karnataka in U25 Col CK Nayadu Trophy’22
Karnataka after being put to bat first were all out for 204 runs in 58.2 overs. All-Rounder Shams Mulani with his tactical left arm spin proved to be one difficult bowler for Karnataka as he came up with excellent bowling figures of 5/52 in 20.2 overs including 7 maidens.
Mumbai Team in reply scored 273 runs courtesy a brilliant hundred by opener Divyaansh Saxena who scored a matured innings of 102 runs in 214 balls smashing 10 fours and a six. Armaan Jaffer who came at no.4 also played well for his 67 which came off 134 balls. Karnataka in 2nd innings batted well scoring 312 runs and it was again Shams being the pick of the lot taking 5/76 in 42.2 overs which included 10 maidens.
Chasing 244, Mumbai did look in trouble at one stage losing quick wickets at the middle order with scoreboard reading 50/6 in 27th over. However, Suved Parkar scripted a magical 4th innings hundred scoring an unbeaten 103* off 163 balls alongwith Shams Mulani who scored 74* off 153 balls as both the batters stitched a record 194 run stand for the 7th wicket to handover Mumbai a 4wkt win over Karnataka and enter into the semi finals of the tournament.
