Atif bags a fifer & Sagar smashes 81 in the quarter finals of Purushottam Shield’22
Payyade Sports Club locked horns against Parkophene Cricketers in the quarter final of Purushottam Shield on May 13 and 14. Parkophene Cricketers won the toss and elected to bat.
Batting first, Parkophene Cricketers were bowled out for 133 in 38.4 overs. Omkar Ghule starred with the bat as he scored a delectable 52. Shubham Girkar also made a useful contribution as he chipped in with 37 runs. On the other hand, Payyade Sports Club’s Atif Attarwala wreaked havoc with the ball as he claimed 5-24.
In reply, Payyade Sports Club fought hard but failed to chase down the total, falling short of 18 runs. Sagar Mishra led the run chase with a magnificent 81 off 100 balls, including 11 boundaries and two sixes. However Mishra kept losing partners at regular intervals which did not help the team’s cause. Royston Dias and Darshan Mangukiya stymied Payyade’s run chase as they bagged 5-29 and 4-35 respectively.
Payyade Sports Club were bowled out for 115 in 29.5 overs to lose the quarter final of Purushottam Shield against Parkophene Cricketers.
