The southpaw from Mumbai made headlines in the Mumbai club cricket sphere with some spectacular performances in the last few days. Rohan Tambe, who plays for several teams namely Mazgaon Cricket Club, PTCA Cricket Club, and JSW Steel Ltd. made useful contributions with both, bat and ball.
Playing for Mazgaon Cricket Club, Tambe scored a solid 62 off 90 balls, including four boundaries, against Star Cricket Club. Mazgaon Cricket Club went on to score 243-6 in 45 overs and won the match by 109 runs. Rohan was the highest scorer and played a pivotal role in his team’s victory.
In a T20 match of Ryder’s cup tournament that the opening batsman featured in, he muscled 31 off just 19 balls, hitting four boundaries and taking PTCA Cricket Club to an easy win against Royal Cricket Club. On the way he stitched a memorable partnership of 80 runs with his coach, Nitin Madhavi who himself scored a scintillating half century.
In yet another T20 match, the all-rounder made a statement with his fantastic performance for JSW Steel Ltd. He decorated the scorebook with a scintillating century. Tambe smashed 123 off just 63 deliveries striking at a rate of close to 200. His innings comprised of 18 boundaries and couple of sixes. After creating magic with the bat, Rohan pulled up his sleeves to contribute with the ball. He bowled his full quota of four overs, giving away 23 runs, and more importantly picked up three wickets.
