Prateek Yadav (85) steers Dr.MG Parulekar School to a win in the Finals of MCA Inter school tournament ’19
Played between Tarapur Vidyamandir Dahisar and Dr. MG Parulekar School at the Sainath Ground, Virar, Tarapur Vidyamandir won the toss and elected to bat first.
However, their decision to bat 1st seemed to have fallen flat as they suffered a batting collapse getting all out for 132 runs in 28.1 overs. Off-Spinner Adwait Palsule who had taken 6/33 in his previous outing vs Holy Cross School continued to impress with the ball taking 4/31 in 8 overs while Aryan Sharma bagging 3 wkts.
Tarapur Vidyamandir could have been all out under 100 runs had it not been their in-form opener Prateek Yadav doing the rescue act. Prateek scored a match winning 85 off 134 balls (11 fours) at a time when no player from his team managed to score in double digits. Tarapur Vidyamandir eventually crossed the victory line winning the match by 2 wkts in a thriller of a match.
Prateek on the other hand has displayed amazing form scoring 76, 88, 51, 42, 54 in semis while chasing & a memorable 85 in the finals amassing 396 runs in 6 matches.
