Praful Jadhav and Tauqeer Sheikh seal the pre-quarter finals in style vs Marwadi CC in the Summer Shield Tournament

The Young Zoroastrian Cricket Ground witnessed an exciting clash between Borivali Cricket Club & Marwadi Cricket Club as we got to see some promising individual performances in the match. On a good batting track, Borivali CC won the toss and elected to bat first with an aim of putting the opposition under pressure.

The decision to bat first did reap dividends for Borivali CC as they managed to score 181/10 in 20 overs. Almost every batsman chipped in with 10’s and 20’s but it was their Left-handed batsman Praful jadhav at no.3 who scored a solid 55 off just 72 balls. Praful came at a time when the openers fell early and he stabilized the innings to bring back the lost momentum. Praful jadhav smashed 5fours & did good running between the wickets to keep the scorecard ticking. Middle-order batsman Tauqeer Sheikh who came in at no.6 scored a 31*off just 34balls pushing their team total to a respectable one.

Chasing 182 was not the toughest of tasks but Marwadi CC felt the pressure of chasing against the strong bowling of Borivali CC boys as they were all-out for a mere 119/10 in 30 overs. Right-arm off-spinner Tauqeer Sheikh was the pick of the bowlers taking 3/30 in his 5 overs followed by 2wkts each for Laxman Kumbhar & Ankit Jain.

Borivali CC won the match by 62 runs & it was a commendable team perfomance by them & especially Tauqeer & Praful. Cricketgraph congratulates the whole team for their win & also wishes them luck for their coming matches.
