Pace bowlers Ajit Rodricks and Farhad Daruwala rattle Shree Lad Club taking 13wkts together in the ongoing Kanga League 2017
Held at the Sassanian CC(Azad Maidan Ground) in Mumbai, it was a match between two promising teams namely Parsee Cyclists and Shree Lad Club where in Parsee Cyclists won the toss and elected to field first considering the vulnerable weather conditions and a bowler friendly wicket.
Their decision to bowl first was spot on as they cleaned up the entire batting line of Shree Lad Club for just 41runs in 18.3 overs. In an embrassment of sorts, not a single batsman was able to convert their score in two digits. The primary reason for that mess in batting was right arm fast bowler Ajit Rodricks who single handedly took on the opposition with his express bowling scalping envious bowling figures of 7/20 in 9.3 overs which also included 4 maidens. Ajit bowled consistently in the right areas with good pace and was quite impressive in his fiery yet short spell of 9.3 overs.
In reply, Parsee Cyclists declared their innings at 124/5 in just 22.3 overs where in Bipin Waghela top scored with an aggressive 33ball 45 while Rupin Desai chipped in with 3wkts. In Shree Lad’s 2nd innings, things got worse as Parsee Cyclists again reduced them to just 27/10 all out in 17.2 overs winning the match outright by an innings and 56runs. In the 2nd innings Right arm fast bowler Farhad Daruwala was the primary destroyer coming up with stunning bowling figures of 6/10 in 8.2 overs (4 maidens). Parsee Cyclists won the match in the most comfortable fashion and pace bowlers Farhad and Ajit were definitely the standout performers in the match.
