No.3 batsman Tejas Chavan scores an impressive ton in his debut outing with MIG in the Late Ajit Naik Memorial Tournament ‘17
Played at the Dadar Parsi Colony, Dadkar Maidan, it was a match between two promising young teams namely Dadar Parsi Colony and MIG Cricket Club where in DPC won the toss and elected to bowl first considering the bowler friendly pitch and weather conditions.
However, MIG displayed their batting prowess as they scored a very commanding total of 253/4 declare in 70 overs. Even though the openers did not gave the best of the starts but it was this talented Tejas Chavan at no.3 who made the no.3 spot his own with a stylish hundred scoring an unbeaten 119* off 208balls. Tejas who is playing for MIG for the 1st time in this season showed a lot of composure and patience which was commendable for his age. Tejas smashed 11fours enroute his hundred while he got a great support from Akash Singh too who scored a solid 54 off 91balls.
In reply, DPC were all out for just 105 runs in 57.4 overs where in Rupesh Gupta top scored with 34. Akash Singh with 2/8 was the pick of the bowlers followed by 2wkts each for Aryan Dalal and Shavraj Durve. MIG won the match on 1st innings and Tejas’s gritty ton remained the highlight perfomance of the match.
