In the pre-quarter match between New Horizon and Mahatma Gandhi School at the NMSA Ground, Vashi, New Horizon winning the toss elected to bat first scoring 179/10 in the 40 over match. Defending a total of 180 in 40 overs, the pressure was definitely more on the team defending than the one who was chasing as it was quite an achievable target. However, fast bowler Vihang Dighe ran through Mahata Gandhi School’s batting line up coming up with sensational bowling figures of 7/18 in 8 overs. Vihan was spot on with the ball maintaining good accuracy while also kept on providing breakthroughs as the opposition were bundled out for 25 runs.
After a commanding win vs Mahatma Gandhi, New Horizon were to lock horns with IES Navi Mumbai School where in New Horizon School after being made to bat first scored 199 runs on the board thanks to a late cameo by Pratham Shah down the order where he chipped in with a crucial 35 ball 55 while Vighnesh Narayan scoring 48 at no.3. IES in reply were bundled out for 150 runs thanks to some really tight bowling where in Aaryank Shetty and Tanuj Hemdev came up with 3 wkts each.
New Horizon School has been playing well consistently under the guidance of their Coach Ajay Bhagat as they will now play the Semis on 2nd of Jan, 2019.
