Middle Order batsman Swapnil Salvi exudes class with his graceful 95 vs Shivaji Park Gymkhana in Kanga League 2017
28 year old Swapnil Salvi keeps on proving his mettle with the bat as his talent still remains understated. Swapnil who has been playing professional cricket since more than a decade has played with numerous cricketers out of which many are also donning the national caps. Played at the M.I.G Cricket ground, it was a high profile A Div match between two strong teams namely M.I.G CC and Shivaji Park Gymkhana where in Shivaji Park Gymkhana elected to bowl first.
Batting first, MIG CC did a good job of scoring 239/8 in 52.3 overs which is way above the average team scores this season. Even though it was a shaky start with the top 3 losing quick wickets, it was Swapnil Salvi at no.4 who played a sublime and a graceful knock of 95 off 116balls to rescue his team out of the trouble. What’s more Swapnil only smashed 2fours but smacked 7sixes to prove his authority with the bat. He also got good support from Sumit Ghadigaonkar who scored 60 off 79balls.
In reply, Shivaji Park Gymkhana scored 81/5 in 30overs before the end of the game’s play where the match was declared drawn. Cricketgraph congratulates Swapnil who played his 1st match this season and impressed everyone with the bat in his 1st outing itself while also wishes both the teams luck for their upcoming matches.
