Middle order bat Prathamesh Angane scores a match winning 65 at no.6 to steer Souvenir CC to a win in the Kanga League ‘17
Played at the National CC, Cross Maidan in Mumbai, it was the 2nd last match of the Kanga league between Souvenir CC & Maharashtra Young Cricketers where in Maharashtra young cricketers won the toss and elected to field first.
Their decision seemed to be well calculated at one point of time when Souveir CC were struggling at 4/66 at one stage but Prathamesh Angane at no.6 came in and resurrected the innings and brought his team back into the game. Prathamesh scored 65 in no time facing just 47balls. Prathamesh changed the momentum and dealt only in boundaries as he smashed as many as 13fours in his knock of 65runs which helped his team reach a respectable total of 191 in 33.1 overs. From the bowling side, Ajinkya Gole and Naresh Salunkhe took 3wkts each.
Souvenir CC boys gave a nice comeback with the ball too as they restricted Young Maharashtra boys to just 134/all-out in 31.1 overs with the help of Ashay Palkar, Aliasgar Badami and Akshay Ambike who took 3wkts each to inflict the damage. Souvenir CC batted for another 8overs with the loss of 3wkts in the 2nd innings before the end of the game’s play where Souveir CC won the match on 1st innings. It was a great match where in Prathames’s contributon at the middle order in the 1st innings made all the difference.
