It was a low-scoring match indeed but sometimes even low scoring matches are interesting and one such match was between CMI & Clear Trip at the Zoroastrian ground in Mumbai. Clear Trip won the toss & elected to field first to restrict the opposition to a low total & put CMI under pressure.
Their decision to bowl first did prove to be a smart one as Clear Trip managed to restrict CMI for just 136/10 in 19.4 overs. Right-handed opener Mayur Rane was the only one who looked solid for his stay at the crease as he scored a composed 42 off 32balls which included 5fours. Apart from him Omkar also looked good scoring 29 off just 24 at no.3. Shaoor & Prabhat bowled really well taking 3wkts each followed by 2wkts for Shakir & 1wkt for Faiyaz. The bowlers did a really good job where they bowled in the right areas and kept on taking wickets at regular intervals.
Chasing 137 in a T20 game is most of the times achievable but CMI bounced back with the ball while Clear Trip could not replicate the good perfomance with the bat which they did with the ball as they were all out for 131/10 in 19.3overs. Vinit was the pick of the bowlers with bowling figures of 3/23 followed by 2wkts each for Nishant & skipper Rupesh Shinde. Mayur also chipped in with a wicket with his off-spin.
The match remained interesting till the end & CMI won by a margin of just 5runs. All-rounder Mayur Rane was declared ‘man of the match’ for his all-round show while the rest of the bowlers also did a great job. It was a complete team perfomance from both the sides & cricketgraph congratulates and also wishes luck to continue playing good brand of cricket in the future too.
